Twin Val'kyr Heroic 25 - Cheesy Door Strat
Tags: 25-man, death knight, humor, mearis, trial of the crusader, twin, twin val'kyr, twins, val'kyr, valkyr, videos, xephos, yogscastThe strat in summary:
- Stand in the door, with the tank at the entrance, so noone takes splash damage from white balls hitting the tank.
- Around 20 raid members take Dark Essence including one tank.
- A couple of raid members with immunity cooldowns and the other tank take Light Essence.
Handling her abilities:
a) Light Shield - easy to burn through.
b) Dark Shield - you need to burn through this by saving cooldowns/heroism, then hope you dont get a second one!
c) Dark Vortex - the few people with the Light buff will need to pop their cooldowns to survive, but everyone else should be fine.
d) Light Vortex - this can easily be healed through it with a Holy Paladin using fire aura mastery in conjunction with divine sac.

There is a much more effictive way to use this strat. You don't need soakers other than tanks. Don't put the entire raid 1 color.
You can modify this strategie to make it more solid. We also play it this way, but we require three Aura Mastery. Divince Sac is optional, we usually have two holy palas --> two divine sac
So split up DD & Tanks in two equal groups. Like grp 1 & 3 shadow, grp 2 & 4 light. grp 5 consits of healers, they split up their debuffs. 3 light 2 shadow or the other way around, doesn't matter. like that you can kill shields without bloodlust, you can just burn through them as in any other strategie.
--> if you lose some people due to vortex, you got bloodlost free to counter next shield regardless of the color. ~4 dead people can be handled if necessary, but executred correctly usually hardly anyone dies. it's just like a "play it safe" backup option we (successfully) created for insanity achievment.
For healers splitting up the raid like that is much more comfortable. On vortex a paladin casts aury mastery + divine sac (third vortex usually only our ret pally got aura mastery left, so no divine sac avaiable [yes make your ret respec :)] ).
Due to this setup, you can predict who is going to get dmg. This gives priest & trees the option to put hots on those grps which get dmg due to the vortex while more or less ignoring the other groups for the time vortex lasts.
I, as a hoyl priest, usually make sure to cast 1 PoH into one of the two groups getting dmg this helps a lot too (communicate with your other holy piests (if avaiable) to make sure both groups get a PoH and not one group two PoH.
Other classes probably have viable options too. I'm no expert for this. But we don't really run a special setup, despite of the paladins (and probably any raid got some paladins due to anub hero). So i guess any Heal Setup is fine.
Recount shows that druids do around 11k hps, priest/shaman 9k, paladins a bit less. But i can't asses who is the most valueable class to heal through the vortex, guess a good mix is fine.
Shadowpriest popping divine hyme during vortex might help aswell!
this strategie can work really smoth & fine, but healers really have to focus on PURE MASSIV OUTPUT during vortex phases, otherwise you ain't gonna survive.
to controll die orbs, which are flying around, we have to different stategies too.
a) tanks stand in front of group, so orbs fly into them
b) rogue with tons of resi gear, cheat death anti-dmg spec, runs around and on purpose collects all the orbs.
he got cos, feign, resi gear dunno what else. he is almost immortal, but you of course have one DD less.

P.S: I'm no native english speaker, hope my explainaitions can be understood anyway.
The Light Vortex is not necessarily "easy" to heal though. We often have people pop some sort of damage reduction cooldown for it. Spriest dispersion, barkskin, etc. It is a boatload of damage and is possible to heal though, though i would say not easily healed through.
The 2nd light vortex is killer...it's a wipe if you get 2.
We've burned through 2 dark shields before, but never lived through 2 light vortexes.
