I'm the administrator, main author, and main person to blame for StratFu.com.
I created StratFu because I enjoyed making videos and was tired of reading bad strats on other sites.
I'm an officer in Fusion on US-Turalyon where I play a Mage.
If you need to reach me, the best way is to PM me on the StratFu Forums, but you can also email me at kyth@stratfu.com.
Gaming History
I raided in EverQuest before I played WoW, playing a cleric and raidleading for our guild "Temerity". There I started my strat-writing and movie-making career: I did all the articles for our guild's strategy library and make promotional videos for the guild.
Initially I played a priest in WoW (couldn't let go of those healers!), then a Warlock, and finally now, with Wrath, a Mage.
My first character was a Priest because we played Horde (on Blackhand at WoW launch) so I couldn't play a Paladin (which was the closest to my beloved cleric.)
By the time I returned to WoW a year later, however, I was very stressed from healing, raiding, and raidleading, and decided to never raid again and to also try a DPS class. After some experimenting I settled on Warlock because I liked how they could lifetap and drain health back, and the pets made for varied play while leveling.
I played casually, and then ended up hitting High Warlord (since I'm terrible at playing casually), and then violated my own rules and joined a guild to start raiding -- Untold Prophecy on Zul'jin -- raiding on my Warlock.
I stayed with them for a while, eventually stepping up to officer and raidleading there as well.
Eventually I wanted to raid with a guild more purely focused on progression. I knew of Fusion from some of their members posting on elitistjerks.com, and I knew that it was a place I'd like to be.
I applied and was accepted, and I've been raiding with Fusion since November 2007 and stepped up into an Officer role in early 2009.
It's pretty much the most ideal gaming experience I could imagine, and I've never been happier in an MMO than I am right now.
Real life
I've worked as a software developer, UNIX systems administrator, and manager (of software developers.)
I'm currently happily married and living on the west coast of the USA.

Hello i am an arcane/frostfire mage from the server Demon Soul, its not the best server but its my home. I love your guides for faster raiding and i have started to implement these ideas on 10 man runs. Your arcane mage guide is superb and its what made me want to switch to arcane. So now i am the only arcane mage in my guild , but im still doing good dps. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this website. I will continues to come back here for advice when i need it. Thanks Maxims

Hi, Kyth. I'm playing a mage on Ravencrest EU. I saw your Arcane guide when I was about lvl 78. Which is just great. So now I've been arcane since I dinged 80, and I deal GREAT DPS. The only thing I don't like with arcane is that I go oom too fast and too often.
So yesterday I tried "the currently best mage specc" which is Fire, 20/51/0,because from what I've heard it doesn't consume as much mana as Arcane. And I've been watching you on Armory and such, and you seem to be playing that specc too, from time to time. But I really don't understand how to get the great DPS out of it? Could you please tell me some facts about it? You seem to be so skilled and such, so I'd really liek your advice :)
Thanks in Forehand. //StarkölMay 22 2009 11:16 am
Keep living bomb up, hit pyroblast when hotstreak procs, fireball otherwise.
Also keep scorch up unless warlocks are doing it.
Fire is pretty simple.May 29 2009 6:02 am
Hi Kyth)
look at this video please, maybe it can be interest. http://forums.goha.ru/showthread.php?p=6715911
if all raid stay at one point (1-2 yards behind right foot of Sara, the green clouds will NOT spawn.
p.s. sorry, english is not my first language.May 29 2009 7:52 am
When they die, they explode dealing damage to everyone around them. This is why raids don't just clump in the middle.

Just looked at your http://www.stratfu.com/strats/UlduarMage page.
The Yogg fight I think you should write frostfire as best spec due to how unlikely it is TtW will be up on your targets most of that fight.
Your arcane spec got Ice Shards instead of frost warding - I really think frostwarding is a MUCH stronger choice. Sometimes getting ticks of 10000 mana (it converts all damage - not just absorbed)is just awesome. The only time Ice Shards is actually better is when doing trash in DK wing in Naxx, since the warrior cleave can make that a bit tricky AEing. For Ulduar raiding as arcane I at least find this one the best for me: http://tinyurl.com/qw2zuw More more than 4% hit in talents seems like overkill with the Ulduar gear. IA is really strong in Ulduar - especially with a Disc priest in the raid.
If you really look at where Arcane stability works in Ulduar it isn't that many either, so I only got 2 in that. I doubt many guilds raid with Imp Conc aura - we never do at least. So Arcane Stability should be either 2 or 4 (1 or 3 with imp conc)
Your arcane spell rotation section is just badly written - if you read it again I hope you can see why. The 2nd and 3rd example I would just delete and rewrite. If you do ABx3+AM you can keep that going always (except on general where your last example would help) - with or without MB procs or not. If you got plenty of mana you just add more ABs before using AM.Jun 02 2009 3:33 pm
If you read at the top of the page, it says that the arcane guide is outdated and the new version is linked at Mages in Ulduar.
Please give me the courtesy of actually reading everything I post if you want to jump all over it.
I'll probably just remove it shortly since, even though some of it is still applicable and it's clearly marked as partially outdated, I'm tired of dealing with the responses.
