Figured I'd put this out there to help people out. This the mod I wrote for us for Alone in the Darkness progress.

Concept:

We rely heavily on accurate marking to get Shadow Beacons out of our clump. We found relying on a single person to get them marked was frequently ineffective, so what I have is actually two mods:

- The master version of the mod, which does the most processing/scanning.
- The slave version of the mod.

The mod picks up new targets in three ways:

1) The master mod will scan every raid member's target at three intervals (0.3, 3, and 5 seconds) after beacons are applied looking for targets.
2) Mouseover targets from a player with any copy of the mod.
3) Target changes by a player with any copy of the mod.

Marks always go out in a set order: Star > Circle > Diamond > Triangle > Moon. This makes it very easy to permanently assign a taunter to a mark.

After Beacons have expired, the mod will announce if any were missed and (after a few more seconds) will clear all marks before the next round of Beacons.

Usage:

Only one person needs to be running the master version of the mod. As many people as you want can be running the slave version, but there's a DR on its effectiveness (we used 3 people with it).

Everyone running the mod needs to be promoted.

It has no in-game configuration options. If you're familiar with lua at all there's a few things you can tweak, but that should be unnecessary for nearly everyone. Install it and it'll work right out of the gate.

If you use BigWigs (and DBM I assume, but I'm not familiar with it anymore), you'll want to turn off the "Empower Icon" option under Ulduar > YoggSaron. BigWigs will try and mark Empowers with skulls, which is counter-productive.

When you're actually fighting, as soon as you see the Incoming Beacons warning, the master will start acquiring new targets instantly. There's a small delay (1.5s) on the slave copies to help prevent double marks (see below), but basically, everyone running the mod either needs to be mouseovering or spamming tab target on the Guardians. The mod will automatically mark Shadow Beacons as they're seen.

Warning:

There's a race condition that exists with multiple copies all trying to acquire marks. It's possible for two different clients to try and mark two different mobs with the same symbol at nearly the same time, which causes one mob to go unmarked. Solving it would require a lot more effort than I cared to get into, but in our experience a double mark is highly infrequent and should generally not be an issue.

There's also a Malady of the Mind warning I threw into the master just because we spent a long time being retarded with Malady chains. It's very easy to delete if you don't want it.

This was written for simplicity, speed and for our purposes first and foremost. It doesn't turn itself off when not in Ulduar or anything, so I don't recommend keeping it running if you're not fighting Yogg.
