Malygos Articles
Overview
As of patch 3.0.8, the "You Don't Have An Eternity" achievement has been changed:
* 6 minutes
* Sparks expire so that you can't ever stack more than 2-3 at once
The net effects on your raid and strategy are:
* 1 DK is still mandatory, 2 is nice, 3 is not needed
* No druids are required
* Far more DPS happens on the ground, so melee are far more useful
Or, in summary: as long as you have a DK or two, you can bring your normal raid (probably with your extra tanks respecing to DPS.)
Important: make sure you wait a full six minutes after a previous wipe to engage Malygos again: the achievement timer for the previous engage needs to finish. Otherwise, even if you complete the kill in under six minutes, you will fail to get the achievement.
Overview
Other than Sartharion with Drakes alive, Malygos is the hardest fight of the original content released with Wrath. He has a 10-minute enrage timer that is fairly unforgiving in early gear and three separate phases with a vehicle-control phase as the last phase that requires your raid to master different skills.
The entire encounter has a 10 minute enrage timer. You can go a bit past the enrage, but not much.
The strat below covers not just the fight, but also tips for overcoming deaths in particular phases.
Malygos done normally (i.e. not in 5 minutes) isn't a DPS race.
Phase 1 is about keeping the tank alive through some pretty hard-hitting damage, and managing the sparks: killing them or rooting them before they reach Malygos.
Phase 2 involves heavy raid heals, while your DPS need to consistently change targets to kill the mobs as quickly as possible.
Phase 3 is a vehicle fight on the back of dragons. Healing, with an AE-healing strategy, is fairly simple, but DPS has a few more buttons to press and it's important that they consistently DPS, since the bulk of the damage comes from a stacking DoT.
Raid encounter hotfixes
We just hotfixed Sapphiron's Frost Aura so it should do the damage that was seen previous to the 3.0.8 patch regardless of the size of the raid or your server's performance. This should be 1200 every 2 seconds in Normal, and 1600 every 2 seconds in Heroic. You'll notice that the Frost Aura debuff you have no longer has a duration that refreshes. The tooltip also incorrectly lists the damage as occuring every second. The tooltip error will be fixed the next time we make a client patch available.

Malygos 6 Minutes: strategy updated
It's a bit harder to update the movie, but the good news is you don't really need a new movie, since the tactics are the same.
The timing, however, is very different, and I've updated the written strategy to explain what to do and when.
Malygos in Six Minutes: The Strategy
I'll have a movie ready next week, although it probably won't be narrated, etc.

Malygos: "Reset timer" bug still exists in 3.0.8
Tonight we killed him in 5:49 for the "Malygos in 6 Minutes"/"You Don't Have An Eternity" achievement but our new members didn't get the achievement.
How? Because we forgot that the minute-longer timer meant we couldn't just re-engage after a P2 wipe. The achievement timer does not reset until it expires, so if you haven't waited a full 6 minutes from when you engaged the last time, you will fail the achievement.
We had some pretty disappointed guildmembers, hopefully this warning will help some other guilds!

5-Minute Malygos nerfed to 6 minutes
Looking for help with the achievement? The Malygos Achievement Tutorial Movie still may help. We'll get an update out to the written strategy guide as soon as possible.
20% more time, which really is a big deal and should make this achievement more doable for guilds who are having problems with spark control (and for bringing more balanced raid compositions with more melee.)
