War Machine: Recruiting

I hope everyone else has enjoyed the wonderful work of Dethkrik throughout 3.3 PTR and launch. He has done amazing work analyzing videos and writing up tentative strategies and then finalizing them once the boss is released. I couldn't think of a better way to thank him and his guild than to put their recruiting call up on the front page.

Now, this isn't blind: I actually know them, since they are on Turalyon. I have several of my alts tagged with War Machine, and have always enjoyed raiding with them.

If we had to choose People vs Progression, we'd choose good people. If you would too, but think you can and should have both, we might be the guild for you.

<War Machine> of Turalyon-US (EST / Stormstrike) is a 9 hr/week progression-focused guild for mature players, who want to put fun and camaraderie first, but still bring a serious A-game to raid times.

We are recruiting exceptional players to round out our roster, with a focus on: Balance Druid, Ret/Holy Paladin, DPS/Resto Shaman, Shadow/Disc or Shadow/Holy Priest, and an exceptional DPS warrior or DPS DK.

Details:

Balance Druid. Offset is not important.

Ret/Holy paladin. You must have experience and be comfortable with both specs. Only one spec needs to meet our gear requirements.

DPS/Resto Shaman. You have a Resto set, with either Elemental or Enhancement as your other set. Which is your "offset" is not important, but you must have experience and skill with both and be prepared to play either as needed. Only one spec needs to meet our gear requirements.

Shadow/Disc or Shadow/Holy Priest. With a preference towards Shadow/Holy, we'd like a priest who is comfortable and experienced in both specs. Only one spec needs to meet our gear requirements.

An exceptional DPS warrior or DPS DK. Be sure to include a WMO/WoL with your app.

We're open to any applications from experienced hard mode raiders with demonstrable skills, regardless of our current needs.

Our application is at: War Machine Application.

We raid Tue/Thu/Sun 9-12, with invites at 8:45 (EST). We run an extremely tight roster; anyone we tag as a raider will raid 90%+ of our raid times, regardless of time with the guild - and officers sit the same share as everyone else. So far during ICC, people have seen 99%+ raid time.

After a successful application and vent interview, new recruits have a 4-week trial, during which we'll get to know them and their play. At the end of 4 weeks, we either tag them permanently, or wish them well.

Because we are generally focused on progression content, and raiding on a tight schedule, it leaves us little time to gear up would-be recruits, so you should generally be ToC25+ geared to apply. We are looking for people who are ready and eager to contribute to progression.

We have an environment of fun and teamwork. Our raid nights are something we all look forward to, and we want to keep it that way. We attribute a lot of our growing success to this environment; we have a remarkably stable roster, because this is a good place to be.

We formed in May of 2008, and we have steadily improved our ability to progress. We went from a late February KT kill, to a World 10k Ulduar rank, to a World 6k ToC rank, to World ~3300 rank so far in ICC. Along the way we've picked up theorycrafters, strategists, and top players in several classes who were attracted to our drama-free environment and casual schedule. We're looking to round out our roster so we're ready to rock ICC Hard Modes.

We're an active guild full of social people. There's something going on every night of the week. We do optional 10 mans, and a proliferation of other things like 5-mans, alt runs, and Friday or Saturday night "drunken runs" through older content.

Turalyon is the #4 PVE realm in the US for progression, and has been #1 a number of times throughout Wrath. A lot of our members take advantage of that for 10-mans, alt runs, GDKP runs, and so on.

It's great to see some of the guilds that were struggling along in early Wrath when I was on Turalyon make it to what they are now. Best of luck in progression!

Thanks for this post. And thanks, Dethkrik, for all your hard work - it's quite cool that everyone could benefit from all the time you took to do research and write stuff up.

We're keeping our roster tight, so we only need a handful of people - but I think anyone who joins us will find WM is a cool guild to call home.
